Our community funding and sponsorship programme is helping to build strong partnerships in the areas that we service. We have listened to our customers and to local communities and focus our sponsorship programmes on projects that meet our joint priorities. For example, we have been pleased to support science, technical, engineering and maths (STEM) related and environmental education programmes such as the GO4SET educational partnerships across Scotland and the Carymoor Environmental Education Centre in Somerset.
We also sponsor programmes that deliver real social and environmental benefit and engagement in the areas in which we operate such as the fantastic Viridor Street Trees project in partnership with City of Trees in Greater Manchester and South West in Bloom.
In addition, our sponsorship programme provides practical assistance and support every year to hundreds of grassroots community and education initiatives. Over the years we have supported hundreds of local good causes. The donations we provide have helped to enrich the lives of the local community in many diverse ways, for example providing sports equipment for small clubs, improving community buildings and pathways in public parks, and initiatives to help less abled groups.
