Viridor Polymers announces new Managing Director, Lee Hodder to drive plastics circularity
Viridor Polymers, a leading player in the polymers reprocessing sector, is delighted to announce the appointment of Lee Hodder as Managing Director.
This announcement comes as a pivotal move for Viridor Polymers, following their recent acquisition of Quantafuel, a market leader in chemical polymers recycling.
With just 12% of plastic recycled globally, there is an urgent need to increase circularity keeping plastics away from both landfill and Energy from Waste. As plastic packaging represents the major source of fossil carbon in energy from waste, plastic recycling drives both better resource use and reducing carbon emissions. By leveraging Hodder’s expertise, Viridor is enhancing its capabilities to deliver sustainable and circular plastic solutions to the market.
Hodder’s expertise in emerging low-carbon value chains, including green hydrogen, biofuels, biogas, and renewable energy, will be instrumental in driving innovation and sustainable growth within Viridor Polymers. With a strong global network, Hodder is well-positioned to establish strategic partnerships.
Throughout his career, Hodder has successfully developed and implemented strategies for both mature asset rejuvenations and new value chain growth. Hodder’s experience of delivering a broad range of capital investments, commercial deals, and strategic partnerships in support of the energy transition, together with established networks across Scandinavia and the Middle East, will be key in driving Viridor Polymers forwards.
Lee Hodder commented: "I am excited to join Viridor Polymers. There is enormous potential to build a sustainable and high-performing business at scale for both mechanical and chemical polymers recycling. I believe that, together with my new colleagues, we can play a significant role in the development of the global circular plastics economy and strengthen Viridor Polymers' position as a leader in the sector."
Announcing the appointment Viridor CEO Kevin Bradshaw, added: “We are thrilled to have Lee join our team as we embark on an exciting new chapter in our journey. Lee’s invaluable expertise and leadership will strengthen our ability to offer comprehensive and integrated circular plastic solutions to our customers, accelerating the transformation of the plastics industry towards a circular economy.”
