Teaching children about recycling from a young age means that it is more likely to become normal behaviour into adulthood. Engaging with students and community groups helps raise understanding of the need to give resources new life.
This is why we invite schools, colleges and community groups to visit our interactive environmental education centres at our facilities across the UK, helping to promote better understanding and best practice in waste prevention, recycling, recovery, resource management and sustainability.
We operate eleven environmental education centres hosting thousands of visitors each year. Our education centres showcase a variety of different technologies, including energy recovery facilities, materials recycling facilities and even landfill sites.

In addition to education services at our own facilities we also provide funding for existing local education initiatives near to some of our facilities:
We have open days at many of our facilities where the general public can see for themselves what goes on. To find out about upcoming open days contact your local site.
