Glasgow Visitor Centre.

The GRREC is home to a dedicated on site education centre. This allows us to deliver real opportunities for Glasgow’s people – young and old - to visit, learn how their waste is being transformed, and gain knowledge on the dynamic world of resource management.

Engaging with students and community groups

Making a difference

Viridor works with a range of young people in education, from primary schools... to secondary schools... and beyond.

We recognise the importance of environmental education and have a strong track record of working with Glasgow’s universities, colleges, schools and communities – from university students on placements in advanced recycling technologies, to our innovative programmes promoting science, engineering and technology in Glasgow schools.

Viridor are proud to partner with the Engineering Development Trust and participate in many STEM projects including the Industrial Cadets Bronze Programme – an annual sustainability competition aimed at secondary school pupils. This programme, among others, aims to develop knowledge and understanding of science, engineering and technology through project work.

Teaching children about reducing, reusing and recycling from a young age means that it is more likely to become normal behaviour into adulthood.
