We play an active role in the communities that we serve and in which we operate. We work in partnership with local partners to provide lasting benefits and our local sponsorship and charitable donations can help support this objective.
We believe that one of the most effective way that businesses can make a positive impact in their communities is through investing in education and young people, employment and enterprise.
We actively encourage our employees to take part in volunteering activities and recognise the benefits this brings to the individual, through management training opportunities and teamwork, building internal and external partnerships and team work, whilst contributing to our local communities.
Our active programme of community funding and charitable giving has helped plant trees, promote STEM education, supported toddler groups and contributed towards countless summer fetes. Individually and as teams, our colleagues have also run, cycled and canoed to raise sponsorship for some fantastic causes. We also provide millions in funding for Viridor Credits, an independent environmental charity, which delivers funding for community, amenity and conservation projects in areas close to our operating landfills.
