We operate our facilities to the highest standards and are continually reviewing the policies and procedures we have in place to ensure that everything we do helps us to give the world’s resources new life.
Management System Standards
To ensure that all our facilities and services apply industry leading environmental, social, economic and workplace practices, we have fully established company policies and procedures in place and continually seek to improve our performance in these keys areas.
We were the first UK waste company to achieve ISO 14001 certification, the highest international environmental standard, across all of our major operational sites.
More recently, we were the first company in our industry to achieve the energy efficiency standard ISO 50001:2011. In addition, we have also incorporated a Competence Management System which demonstrates that we are technically competent to carry out a wide range of permitted waste operations in accordance with all appropriate regulatory requirements.
We are externally certified to the following Management System Standards, registered through BSI (British Standards Institute)

Our people are our greatest resource. To ensure that we are all working together to progress as a company we have invested considerable time and resource into increasing our levels of employee engagement. This means more regular contact from senior managers and board members with colleagues across the business, emphasis on internal communication and ultimately creating a culture whereby all Viridor people understand and engage with our business strategy.
To coincide with our focus on employee engagement and to allow us to measure our effectiveness and continuously improve, we take part in the Gallup Q10 survey.
