Community Liaison

The Local Liaison Forum (LLF) for the Runcorn Energy from Waste facility was agreed as part of the planning permission for the facility. The purpose of the Forum is to act as conduit between the EfW facility, Halton Borough Council and community stakeholders in order to keep residents fully informed about the facility operations.  Following agreement with the Council and other Forum members, Viridor, as the operator, administers the LLF.

The LLF meets every quarter and this section of the website is updated with information from the Forum, including the agendas and minutes of each meeting, along with member contact details. You can also download copies of the community newsletter that is distributed to keep local residents informed about the EfW facility.

Volunteering

We actively encourage our employees to take part in volunteering activities and recognise the benefits this brings to the individual, through management training opportunities and teamwork, building internal and external partnerships and team work, whilst contributing to our local communities.

Staff from the Runcorn site recently volunteered a Runcorn Park Hill to help restore the land following a devastating fire. They made a great start and intend to follow up with further volunteering teams.
